Corinne Vilcaz is an artist with an imagination free of the constraints of modern classical form. Her works are often comprised of vibrant colors contrasted against a heavy use of palette knife. Instead of having a focus on the representation of actual shapes, Vilcaz emphasizes the importance of color in bringing forth the true form of art. Working in the Batch & Garonne region of France, Corinne Vilcaz takes her inspiration largely from her surroundings. Vilcaz creates canvasses that inspire thoughts of nautical adventures and that capture the essence of the impermanence of nature. Her concentration on matter and texture bring forth the image as a "contemporary realization" of modern impressionism. See Pandora discuss the original art by Vilcaz at the Westport River Gallery.
