Born in Cannes in 1960, internationally known Christian Neel studied Decorative Arts in Nice. A keen lover of his Provence, France, roots, and its light, he found there a basis of artistic creation. Ever since he was a child, he has been drawing, painting and working with vibrant colors. From figurative to abstract arts, his unique and clearly defined style could be seen as the meeting of dream and gesture. His pallet is as light as the images are enlightening, graphic and emotional. His mood-setting images make us smile, and encourage us to recall pleasant moments in our lives.
Fascinated by drawing and painting, he studied at the Decorative Arts in Nice. The brightness of his home region became the basis of his inspiration. As a soaring chromatic, the artist uses bright and dynamic colors that mixes directly onto the canvas using brushes and knives. His black, red, blue and white background brings intensity to his expression. The material grows in an amazing supernatural atmosphere, giving a unique energy to his art, where inventiveness and sense of color harmony bind to the creative power. Combination of figurative and abstractive forms and colors, the painting of Christian Neel is a journey between dream and reality: a springboard for the imagination. Christian Neel exhibits in France (Place des Vosges in Paris, at Cannes, at St Paul de Vence) in Monaco, New York, St Maartin (Caribbean), Italy, Japan, Belgium, Switzerland and Westport USA.
Neel aims at being way off the beaten track and carrying us away into the land of imagination, bright light and swirling movement. “The one who seeks to linger on his art is led to discover the world of colors and set eyes upon new horizons,” says Neel. His work has been shown in many parts of the globe, and has been on display as part of an international show held at the United Nations.
