New landscapes have arrived from England by Stephen Hawkins, complete with mist, animals and fences. Stephen was born in Surrey in 1964. As a child, Stephen
combined an enthusiasm for horses with a love of drawing. He soon
displayed a natural artistic ability which led him to produce equestrian
and countryside paintings using a variety of medium. Stephen now concentrates on landscapes,
mainly of the South Downs and Sussex, that capture the subtle changes
of light and shade throughout the seasons. The inclusion of
sheep, cattle and horses in many of his landscapes helps to convey
truthfully the peaceful atmosphere of modern day Downland life. At right is 16x24; at least, 6x8. His
paintings have been exhibited at the Royal Society of Equestrian
Artists and at various exhibits around England and the US. See other works.
