Tom Everhart is the only artist with full creative rights to the "Peanuts" characters created by Charles Schulz (1922 –2000). In 1980 Tom graduated from the School of Art and Architecture at Yale University. He got a freelance job drawing renderings of Charles Schulz's characters. Everhart began working with "Peanuts" imagery exclusively. His first show was at the famous Louvre Museum in January 1990. In 1991, Charles Schulz and United Media, drafted a legal agreement allowing Tom exclusive rights to use subject matter from Schulz's "Peanuts" strip in his art for "the term of his life." "Peanuts" is the most popular and influential strip in the history of the genre, and ultimately earned Schulz over $1 billion during his lifetime. His decision to tap Everhart as the sole steward of his creation is an honor that the artist has happily devoted his life to.

Award winning and unique artist HM Saffer has just sent the Westport River Gallery several new vibrant works on canvas and board. In 1965, he went to Paris to take economics classes, but wound up becoming a musician with Hugues Aufray, Jacques Brel and Charles Aznavour. HM Saffer was hired by Barclay Records as a producer and had several hits during the late 1960s During this time he also was chef/owner of two restaurants in Paris and later a third in Ibiza, Spain. Dramatic, Wispy and Colourful Swirls by J. Fatse

Westport's Live French Impressionist ArtTrek

First Annual Impressionist Live ArtTrek was April 26 at the corner of Main Street & Post Road in Westport CT. College participants wore a beret, traditional headwear favored by artists Monet, Pissarro, Picasso & others. The first-of-its-kind event in the region was sponsored by Westport River Gallery. La Roche-Gouyon by Camille Pissarro, 1859

Known as the "Father of Impressionism," Camille Pissarro painted rural and urban French life, particularly landscapes in and around Pontoise, as well as scenes from Montmartre. His mature work displays an empathy for peasants and laborers, and sometimes evidences his radical political leanings. He was a mentor to Paul Cezanne and Paul Gauguin and his example inspired many younger artists, including Californian Impressionist Lucy Bacon. Pissarro's influence on his fellow Impressionists is probably still underestimated; not only did he offer substantial contributions to Impressionist theory, but he also managed to remain on friendly, mutually respectful terms with such difficult personalities as Edgar Degas, Cezanne and Gauguin. Pissarro exhibited at all eight of the Impressionist exhibitions. Shown here with the initals 'C.P.' Colorful Works by the Ukraine's Tanya

Tanya Ilyakhova is a member of the Ukrainian National Artists Guild and a recipient of the Grand Prix of Art Festival in Kosovo. The National Artist's Guild of the Ukraine published a book featuring and honoring the best Ukrainian Artists of the decade entitled "The Ukrainian National Artists Guild 1991-2001.” Her painting are on the front cover. Her work is featured in museums, galleries, churches, official offices & private collections in England, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Norway, Ukraine, Russia, India, Australia, Canada and the US. Among private collectors are the president of the Ukraine, Victor Yushchenko, and a well-known British writer and journalist James Meek. Her clients include the Kiev Patriarchate, the Norwegian Embassy in the Ukraine, the State Cultural Museum Fund of the Ukraine, the Ukraine Ministry of Culture, and the Office of the President of "Kiev-star" (the largest Internet provider in the Ukraine).
