Woodstock "Tweet Tweet" by Tom Everhart

More Snoopy lithographs are on the way. This one is an original limited edition, hand signed, hand pulled lithograph by Peanuts artist, Tom Everhart. The piece is titled, Tweet Tweet and features Woodstock singing. It was created at S2 Editions Atelier in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2000. The vibrant artwork is printed on deckle edged Rives BFK 100% cotton paper using the finest quality archival ink. Includes a certificate of authenticity by the publisher, S2 Art. He began his under graduate studies at the Yale University of Art and Architecture in 1970. In 1972 he participated in an independent study program under Earl Hoffman at St. Mary’s College. He returned to the Yale School of Art and Architecture in 1974 where he completed his graduate work in 1976, followed by post-graduate studies at the Musee de l’Orangerie, in Paris. He taught Life Drawing and Painting, briefly from 1979 to 1980, at Antioch College. Click for others available

Crashing Seaside Waves and Gliding Birds by Dorie

Fresh art has arrived from Dominique Dorié, born in Versailles in 1958. At the age of 16 he began working in the Louvre in a conservation capacity as a restorer of sculptures. Dorie enjoyed the opportunities his location presented him, most especially, the chance to study the many masterpieces hanging on the walls of the great museum. 1977 marked the turning point for Dorié’s career. His focus is Provence and its various nuances. He is comfortable with fields of lavender and red poppies, to small inlets filled with sea grass and colorful boats. He often paints lighthouses, flowering apple trees, small hilltop villages, and even relaxing, serene waterways. Like many French artists he also signs the back of the picture, notes its size in centimeters, and the subject.

Grandeur of the Deep Forest by William Drake

New watercolors by the late William A. Drake, born in Toronto, in 1891. He studied at the Ontario College of Art. Professionally, he was a well-respected designer, painter of Broadway show and television production sets and backdrops (including art director for NBC-TV), printmaker, and draftsman. He was a scenic artist, as well as a supervisor in New York theaters for over 60 years until his retirement in 1975. He also was an instructor of scenic painting at Yale University. His works have been exhibited through the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts, Salons of America, Montclair Art Museum, and Venice Biennale (1940), among others. William A. Drake died in 1979 at his Bergenfield, NJ home at the age of 87.

Relaxing Florals by French Artist Courchia

Lovely art now on display at Westport River Gallery by Jean-Paul Courchia of Marseille, France. The interplay of light and shadows is not by accident in the works by French artist Jean-Paul Courchia. And the basic constriction of many famous works of art is also not by accident. Jean-Paul Courchia comes to the Westport River Gallery in Westport by way of France. The physician-lecturer-artist’s oil paintings on canvas are displayed in Marseille in the famous Provencal Gallery Jouvène, which Van Gogh and Cezanne called home for their art work. Her Highness Queen Paola of Belgium and Madame Nobutaka Shinomiya, wife of the Consul of Japan in Marseille, are avid collectors of his work.
