J. Okumura's use of color and creative texture lend harmoniously from the natural world and her heritage of both Eastern and Western influences. She derives inspiration for her oil and acrylic paintings of a wide variety of subjects, which she hopes conveys a sense of motion and evoke a wide range of emotions. Okumura grew up in Philadelphia and has been creating art for almost two decades. She attended Syracuse University in addition to receiving her MFA from Boston University. She has a strong comprehensive knowledge of the Art Market: Modern and Contemporary Art with diverse and extensive Fine Art experiences such as Fine Art Consultant, Design Associate, Adjunct Educator at Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and founding Exhibition Chair for National Association of Women Artists, Mass.
