Madeleine Béchard was born in Quebec in 1928 and passed away in 2016. She taught at the Chanoine-Beaudet Institute in St-Pascal-de-Kamouras, she perfected her skills with the painter Pierre Labrecque de Charlevoix. She continued her training at the Montreal Fine Arts Workshop, and finally with Louis Desaultiers from 1991-96. Madeleine Béchard's works are characterized above all by the originality of the subject. Long, slender shapes insinuating elegant characters are accentuated by a vivid coloration. Her compositions created under the theme "Woman in Search of Lost Time" are particularly appreciated by connoisseurs. In addition to his repertoire, "Women and Music" is scenes where characters and instrumental forms intertwine to configure creative and unique compositions.
