Fresh Scents of Florals and Sea Air by Courchia

JP Courchia from Marseille, France, is a physician of endocrinology & metabolic diseases, and fascinated by science, art, medicine, perceptions, colors, shadows and light. He has worked with the department of ophthalmology in Saint-Joseph’s hospital in Marseille and he is often requested to give lectures in France about the visual strategy of visitors looking at paintings. Measurements of eye movements in the discovery of a painting show how vision is often disconnected from the brain. Starting out from a preliminary study into the behavior of museum visitors, and in particular the average time spent in front of a picture (about 12 seconds), his research is intended to highlight the information picked up by viewer exploring various paintings. One of his videos shows the eye gaze strategies in paintings by Henri Matisse and Francisco Goya. This new original is 18x15.

Enjoying the Abstracts by Asian-American Okumura

J. Okumura's  use of color and creative texture lend harmoniously from the natural world and her heritage of both Eastern and Western influences. She derives inspiration for her oil and acrylic paintings of a wide variety of subjects, which she hopes conveys a sense of motion and evoke a wide range of emotions. Okumura grew up in Philadelphia and has been creating art for over 15 years. She attended Syracuse University in addition to receiving her MFA from Boston University. She has a strong comprehensive knowledge of the Art Market: Modern and Contemporary Art with diverse and extensive Fine Art experiences such as Fine Art Consultant, Design Associate, Adjunct Educator at Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and founding Exhibition Chair for National Association of Women Artists, Mass. Collecting lavender in France. French artist Poumelin's art is expressed in his music as an accomplished guitarist. His landscapes, Venetian seascapes, still lifes, and his other paintings are filled with a spiritual exercise…filled with powerful harmonies and magic reality, and sensitive serenity. He remains faithful to the motif, to the object, to the unmistakable poetic elements. His works evoke a feeling, a sense of place, and sometimes the gold paint jumps out against the serene black and white. A silver medallist in 1996 at the Grand Salon Internationnal de Peinture, and the grand prize gold medalist in 1997 at the Internationnal d’Arts Plastiques Poumelin’s work are in a number of significant private and corporate collections. His art is widely exhibited in France, Italy, Canada, Corsica, and the United States.
