Fields of Southern France by Dominique Dorie

Dorié was born in Versailles in 1958. At the age of 16 he began working in the Louvre in a conservation capacity as a restorer of sculptures. Dominique Dorie enjoyed the opportunities his location presented him, most especially, the chance to study the many masterpieces hanging on the walls of the great museum. Although Dorié had little free time, he felt compelled to sketch. Nevertheless he had several small “exhibitions” of his own, by hanging his work in the evenings on the fences of the Church of St. Germain des Pres. Though Paris is the center of art in France, working there can be accompanied by many distractions. This is 28x36.

Inglot's Dramatic Reflections of the Dutch Masters

Born in Zary, Poland in 1948, André Inglot’s style style is reminiscent of the old masters; Vermeer and Rembrandt. His palette knife and brush stroke add a radiance of light, and his muted colors harmonize true to life. The result is a charm held in abeyance that is uniquely Andre Inglot. He quickly became well known, and has been honored as a participant in group exhibitions with Rene Bretheret and Strichling Molen. Inglot has been featured in numerous exhibitions throughout Europe including England, Honfleur, Etrange, Paris, Holland, The United States and his homeland Poland. He was the recipient of the Gold Medal from Revue Regionale de l’Art Polonais, the Gold medal from Salon d’Autumne, and the Silver Medal from Concours de l’Art de la Region Ouest- also from Poland. In addition André Inglot is world famous for his large murals and has been commissioned on numerous occasions by the city of Paris. Ths is 21x25.

I so immensely love what I do, that I actually forget I am working. Each painting I create is a personal odyssey. I start with a flat surface and working with combinations of red, blue, yellow and white, I arrange them to create the illusion of objects. I don’t necessarily start with a subject in mind. Instead, I like to play with colors and see what emerges for me, the whole surface has an interest as opposed to just a central object. Sometimes I start painting by looking at a photograph of a subject, other times I start with a color combination that I liked in a previous painting."
