Smith's Modern Shore Birds Dancing with Whimsy

Coming soon are new shorebirds, each 12x16 originals. Born in South Africa, Lyn grew up in Zimbabwe, and then Canada. She started on a drawing board in Africa as an electrical draftsperson, but computers expanded my horizons leading to a fascination with graphics and design. "I quit work early to focus full time on art, and have schooled myself in the fundamentals of various mediums, but growing up close to nature in the African bush still influences my brush." Drawn to organic shapes (using dimensional acrylic gels), she adds more disciplined grids with less 3D acrylic. Finally she adds colour. Whimsy dances through these pieces. Her work is hanging in private collections in the Canada, USA and abroad. Click for all available.

Subtle and Colorful Florals by J. Okumura

J. Okumura grew up in Philadelphia and has been creating art for over 15 years. She attended Syracuse University in addition to receiving her MFA from Boston University. She has a strong comprehensive knowledge of the Art Market: Modern and Contemporary Art with diverse and extensive Fine Art experiences such as Operations Manager, Fine Art Consultant, Design Associate, Adjunct Educator at Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and currently sits on the board as coVP and founding Exhibition Chair for National Association of Women Artists, Inc. Mass. Her use of color and creative texture lend harmoniously from the natural world and her heritage of both Eastern and Western influences. She derives inspiration for her oil and acrylic paintings of a wide variety of subjects, which she hopes conveys a sense of motion and evoke a wide range of emotions.
