  • Westport River Gallery in Westport CT, is 30 minutes from NYC, located along the Saugatuck River at the junction of the Post Rd. (Rt 1) & Riverside Ave. (Rt 33). We are 2 easy miles from both the CT Turnpike (I-95) and the Merritt (Rte 15). Both intersect with Rt 33. Hours: Wed-Fri 11-2; Sat 11-4; Sun 11-3, or by appointment. Subtle and Colorful Florals by J. Okumura

IMG_3197 IMG_3199J. Okumura grew up in Philadelphia and has been creating art for over 15 years. She attended Syracuse University in addition to receiving her MFA from Boston University. She has a strong comprehensive knowledge of the Art Market: Modern and Contemporary Art with diverse and extensive Fine Art experiences such as Operations Manager, Fine Art Consultant, Design Associate, Adjunct Educator at Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and currently sits on the board as coVP and founding Exhibition Chair for National Association of Women Artists, Inc. Mass. Her use of color and creative texture lend harmoniously from the natural world and her heritage of both Eastern and Western influences. She derives inspiration for her oil and acrylic paintings of a wide variety of subjects, which she hopes conveys a sense of motion and evoke a wide range of emotions.
