'Young Beauty' by French Artist Paul Prosper Tillier

This lovely original oil painting by a French artist Tillier reflects the soft, Renoir-like approach to beauty. From her sweet almost cherubic cheeks and soft luminescent gaze, to her curled auburn hair, gold hoop earrings, soft pink lipstick, the hat on top of finely curled hair, and red and white flowers highlighting her slightly tilted hat, she is stunning. She has a white scarf that frames her jacket and highlights her face. The "Young Beauty" is oil on canvas, by French artist Paul Prosper Tillier, who was born about 180 years in 1834 and died in 1915, almost 100 years ago. The picture is signed in the lower right area, and the image is 16x13, excluding frame size. Westport River Gallery has many modern French artists, including Camille Pissarro and his descendants.

 

Reflections of the Simple Countryside

The simplicity of the countryside, combined with earthen colors make the new works by M. Smith very enticing for home and office. Smith was born in South Africa and raised in Zimbabwe, and he arrived in Canada in the late 1980’s. After initially studying architecture, he attended the Salisbury School of Art, followed by in-depth studies with the UK’s Michael Chase. His career continued as an award winning multinational art director/creative director, until he decided to move out into the country in order to paint full-time in 2003. Seven pictures are available, ranging from 12x48 to 20x20 (two shown here)..
