The Unique & Detailed Art of HM Saffer

Award winning artist HM Saffer creates a unique blend of works by Klimt, Van Gogh and his own imagination. H.M. is a character. He enjoys life, his family, a bottle of fine wine at a cafe (including in Westport), and in recent years his works have achieved a much higher-level of national and international notice. His works on board are full of vibrant color and each is a very focused work of art. In 1965, he went to Paris to take economics classes, but wound up becoming a musician with Hugues Aufray, Jacques Brel and Charles Aznavour. He was hired by Barclay Records as a producer and had several hits during the late 1960s During this time he also was chef/owner of two restaurants in Paris and later a third in Ibiza, Spain. However, all during this era he never stopped painting and exhibiting. He took classes at L’Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris and had exhibits in Paris and Brussels before returning to the U.S. More works available.

Colorful Cityscapes of Paris, NYC by Hajdin

Hajdin creates impressionist paintings that reflect the cityscapes of Paris, NYC and other cities. His colors are underlays of pastel-colored oils that are loaded with color and feeling. Says the artist Edward Hajdin: "My paintings are all about feelings and moods. I use both the palate knife and brushes to create them. They are oil paintings done on stretched linen. I like to develop thicker areas and thinner spaces to conjure up what I want to say in a painting. The colors can go from pastel to very bright and back to gray and finally black. Movement is developed with layers of paint as well as still areas with less paint. All of this to leave you with the feeling of being there."
