Westport River Gallery presents a collection of pointillism works based on the travels of famed French Impressionistic Camille Pissarro in Paris. Artist Wayne Shilson has used the time-consuming style of pointillism, the same painting style as George Seurat, Pissarro & Paul Signac. The award-winning artist, listed in International Biographical Centre Cambridge England, was named among the 2,000 Outstanding Artists and Designers of the 20th Century, and Who's Who in American Art. He was awarded an arts grant in 1999 to paint an updated version of the impressionist painter Pissarro's urban landscape series in Paris. In 2011 he was awarded an arts grant to complete the circle of his version of Pissarro's Paris series with the missing Pantheon series from the Boulevard Morland. The works in Westport are based on this grant. His work is in many US galleries; collectors include corporations such as Honeywell, 3M, Pillsbury, Northwestern National Life Ins, Univ of Minnesota.
