Westport's Gault Family Barn, Poppies Arrive

Some fresh pictures of barns and poppies have arrived at the Westport River Gallery by American artist Mona Brown. Most notably, the barn at right has been in the Gault family for many years. Her pictures reflect her frequent travels to Vermont and Fairfield County, and her interest in composition, color, and balance. Most are based on a Vermont or Fairfield County farm. Many collectors enjoy the udder simplicity of the cows and farm scenes she paints. See the video.

Private Collection of Pissarro Artworks

For private viewing Westport River Gallery has an exclusive selection of about 15 original works by Famous Impressionist Camille Pissarro & his sons, grandson & great grand daughter (Lelia Pissarro). Prices for the works by the Pissarros are $550 (for serigraphs by Lelia Pissarro) to $18,000 for a 100-year-old work by Camille. Born in 1884, Paulemile (one of his oils at left) was raised in the artistic environment of Eragny. His godfather was Claude Monet, who became his tutor & close friend. Color Bursts of Glass from Mundy Hepburn

New glass bursts are now at the Westport River Gallery in Connecticut from Mundy Hepburn, nephew of legendary Actress Katharine Hepburn. Mundy Hepburn makes blown glass ranging from bowls to giant forms that are filled with rare gas mixtures such as helium, neon, argon, krypton, and xenon. Glass in the bowls is often mixed with substances for color.

 

Sakura by HM Saffer: Bold Night Light

Award winning artist HM Saffer has just sent the Westport River Gallery several new works, a unique blend of works by Klimt and Van Gogh. His works on board are full of vibrant colors and each is a very focused, unique work of art. The new picture here is 24x18, entitled Sakura, is a unique landscape with vibrant colors. Ltd Viewing of Lelia Pissarro's Monet's House

Westport River Gallery has a premiere oil painting available from Lelia Pissarro, entitled Monet's House. It is 26x32, with a wood gold frame, located offsite and available for viewing for serious buyers only.  Lelia Pissarro's Impressionist works hail back to a time when great grandfather Camille Pissarro fathered the Impressionist movement. Lélia, born in Paris in 1963, is the daughter of H. Claude Pissaro and grand-daughter of Paulémile. As a child she lived in Normandy with her grandparents and was taught to draw and paint by her grandfather Paulemile Pissarro. Paulemile's godfather was Claude Monet. New Hepburn Glass Sculptures in Westport

Glass in the bowls is often mixed with substances for color. For example, the pink comes from gold, while other colors are from different substances. Hepburn is seen here working on a glass sculpture in his studio.

French Countryside & Paris by Kaprielian

New Yetvart Kaprielian oils at the Westport River Gallery in Connecticut highlight the French countryside, and the beauty of Pars. Yetvart Kaprielian has been listed in the E. Benezit, the prestigious world-recognized "Who's Who" of painters and sculptors since 1999. Born in 1959, Yetvart Kaprielian has been painting since 22. He travels throughout the Ile-de-France, Normandy, Brittany, Provence, and the riverbanks of Seine. Kaprielian expresses through touches of luminous and sparkling colors a harmony of reflections. Added new oils.

Nadine Lecomte's New Soft Florals

Nadine Lecomte has a unique technique, creating soft and colorful works featuring her native Brittany. Later, when she began painting in oil, vibrant images of Provence and Africa became the primary subjects of her work. Since 1993, she has exhibited her paintings predominantly in Brittany, Provence, Paris, China, New York and Westport. Her work is bold, brash and can easily fit into any room, office or study.

Dec 4 Holiday Show Features Art & Music

Enjoy some wine, a lovely harpist playing traditional tunes to “Stairway to Heaven,” speak with American artists, and appreciate the new French and British art art by Dorie, Dubord, Kaprielian, Lecompte, Wilkinson (see pugs). One new set of works is also from a master floral artist from Germany (see 16x12 below). Artists Vitello, Zider, Brown, and Sage will be in attendance. Time 6-9 pm.
