Tete de Femme LampsWe now exclusively have the famed Giacometti lamps: Tete de Femme (head of a woman), pair of Figural Lamps. Two are available and one is on display. The originals were conceived by Alberto Giacometti (1901-1966) for the French decorator Jean Michel Frank and cast by Alberto's brother Diego (1902-1985).
The casts were subsequently sold to American Artist Jasper Johns. Delicate modeling and exquisite craftsmanship characterize this remarkable pair of original lamps from the Nelson Rockefeller Collection.
These are part of a collection of furniture items collaboratively designed by Alberto and Diego Giacometti. They come from the famous "Rockefeller Collection" which were 1970 castings from the originals conceived and executed by The Roman Bronze Works under the direction of the former New York Governor & Vice President of the United States, Nelson A. Rockefeller.
The lamps have the signature "Diego" clearly etched into the bases. This will be on display for one week, so if you are interested, call us at 203-226-6934.
