Crisp Images of Bruges & Paris by Kaprielian

The original oils by Armenian-born Yetvart Kaprielianare lively, crisp, and show a love Paris and its surrounding country. Yetvart Kaprielian has been listed in the E. Benezit, the prestigious world-recognized "Who's Who" of painters and sculptors since 1999. Born in 1959, Yetvart Kaprielian has been painting since 22. He travels throughout the Ile-de-France, Normandy, Brittany, Provence, and the riverbanks of Seine. Kaprielian expresses through touches of luminous and sparkling colors a harmony of reflections. Dominique Dorie, Master French Impressionist

Dominique Dorie's art is collected worldwide, and reflects the timeless substance of a vast work of French impressionism. The artist who hung his work on the fences surrounding the church of St. Germain des Pres has traveled a long distance. In 1985 he exhibited his work in the Salon de Criel and in the Salon d'Orly. He was awarded the Prix du Salon in the latter exhibition. In 1984 and 1985 he exhibited in the prestigious Salon d'Automne. In 1986 he won the Medaille d'Or at an exhibition in Deauville. He has since become one of the most highly regarder painters of his time and is listed in the prestigious Benezit Encyclopedia, 2000 Edition, and is featured on page 687.

Dominique Dorie Delights with Soft Flowing Oils

New works are available by Dominique Dorie, internationally collected French artist. The artist who hung his work on the fences surrounding the church of St. Germain des Pres has traveled a long distance. In 1985 he exhibited his work in the Salon de Criel and in the Salon d'Orly. He was awarded the Prix du Salon in the latter exhibition. Dominique Dorie has since become one of the most highly regarded painters of his time and is listed in the prestigious Benezit Encyclopedia. Both of these works are available at the Westport River Art Gallery. Left is about 15x18 and at right is 32x32, both unframed.

French Seascapes by Dominique Dorie

New works are on display by French master artist Dominique Dorié. Dorie was born in Versailles in 1958. At 16 he began working in the Louvre as a restorer of sculptures. Dominique enjoyed the opportunity to study the many masterpieces hanging on the walls of the great museum. Although he had little free time, he felt compelled to sketch. Nevertheless he had several small "exhibitions" of his own; by hanging his work in the evenings on the fences of the Church of St. Germain des Pres. 1977 marked the turning point for Dorié's career.

Scottish, English Seascapes by Stanley Andrews

Five oil paintings are now available by the late Stanley Andrews, who comes to the Westport River Gallery in Connecticut, from England. He had been a member of the Royal Society of Marine Artists for many years. He had exhibited widely in the Midlands and South of England, including the Singer and Friedlander Watercolor Exhibition and the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolor. He also taught many classes in painting, influencing the next generation of English painters.

Allen Shufflebotham

New works have arrived in the Westport River Gallery by British artist Allen Shufflebotham. He  was recognized as a talented artist when he was a schoolboy. Having left school he went into engineering but always remained focused on art. In 1967 he sustained a sporting injury that sidelined him from his employment. This gave him the time to pursue his interest in painting and from that time on, he has built up a reputation as an accomplished artist winning national prizes. Click for other works.

He enjoyed studying the masterpieces hanging on the walls of the great museum and felt impelled to sketch them. He had several small " exhibitions " by hanging his work in the evenings on the fences of the church of St. Germain des Pres. 1977 marked a turning point. At 24, he decided he needed surroundings with greater calm, quiet, so he moved to a small village on the edge of the sea in Normandy. In 1985 Dorie exhibited his work in the Salon de Criel and in the Salon d'Orly. In 1986 Dominique Dorie won the Medaille d'Or at an exhibition in Deauville.
