French Artist Michel Guyon was born August 11, 1947. He studied at the Beaux Art School of Nantes at the end of the sixties and gained experience in theatrical practice. He became passionate for opera, music, and painting which brought him to create theatre decorations, costumes, and posters. Following the teaching of Mr. Baty, he discovered the drawings of Paul Dauce and Joel Dabin, which he incorporated into his decorations.
In the seventies, he worked on lyrical spectacles and amassed numerous decorations as set designer for the operas
Noces de Figaro, The Magic Flute, Don Giovani, Carmen, and Faust.
He also worked for the Jean Marais festival, the Francis Huster company, “les treteaux de France” and many summer festivals. He now works for the Anger opera house. At the same time, he cultivates his secret garden: paintings on canvas. His talent with decoration shows through his beautifully realized artistic works, a mixture of a poetry of colors and a strong touch of glaze, attesting to Guyon‘s wonderful talent as a painter. His works are collected worldwide.
