Antonio Garcia takes us not far away to New England and the Northeast United States, from New York City to Maine. His work elicits a calm feeling accentuated by muted tones he favors on his pallet. His work is favored by upbeat decorators, who recognize Garcia’s insightful view that makes a still life come alive. He pays attention to detail, and favors wooden boards for most of his pictures to best control color and flow. Garcia also spends considerable time ensuring his pictures are balanced, and present a uniform look.
Whether his focus is a still life, or a fountain scene in Central Park, we are drawn into a dreaminess and depthness that only an artist can capture. Garcia was born in Milwaukee, Wisc., has won many awards, and been highlighted at numerous exhibits in Ohio, Pittsburgh, Vermont, New Jersey, Maine, New York City, New Jersey and Indiana. His work is in many private collections in Spain, New York, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Wisconsin. Antonio travels throughout the country with his wife, H.S.Kim, oriinally from South Korea, and who is also represented by the Westport River Gallery. He studied fine arts at the University of Wisconsin, and later at the Art Student League in New York City. He is a member of the National Society of Mural Painters.
