Jan Balet was born in Bremen, Germany in 1913. After receiving an education, Ballet settled in America in 1938. Jan Ballet’s works are cited in several articles and books all around the globe. He is said to be one of the world’s most important living masters of naïve art. His works depict the joys in life as well as the irony and mystery that surround our daily experiences. Now living in Switzerland, Ballet is busy creating his masterful lithographs and paintings which are fancied all around the world. His works depict life's activities of daily living, with a tad of fanciful lightness added. Westport River Gallery in Westport, Connecticut has several original signed lithographs by Jan Balet.
